DBR Consultation Services
I am a consultant-in-training (CIT), meaning I can meet with you individually or in a consultation group if you have completed Level 1 and/or Level 2 DBR training.

Why is Consultation Essential in Deep Brain Reorienting?

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a precise and powerful trauma-focused approach that works with the brain’s earliest threat responses. Because DBR engages pre-verbal and subcortical processes, it requires a high level of clinical attunement, pacing, and ethical responsibility. Ongoing consultation is a critical component of safe and effective DBR practice.
Working at the level of early threat responsesDBR focuses on shock and orienting responses that occur before conscious thought, emotion, or narrative. These responses are subtle, easily missed, and can be misinterpreted without adequate guidance. Consultation supports therapists in accurately tracking these early signals and responding in ways that support integration rather than overwhelm.

Consultation is not only about preventing harm—it is also how therapists grow in their DBR practice.
Through consultation, therapists can also:
-
Refine tracking and language
-
Strengthen confidence in slow, minimal interventions
-
Clarify stuck points in sessions
-
Learn how DBR integrates with their broader clinical approach

Consultation mirrors the same principles used with clients: safety, attunement, pacing, and respect for nervous system limits. Engaging in consultation models the very values DBR is built upon.Seeking consultation is not a sign of inexperience—it is a sign of care, humility, and dedication to practicing DBR with depth and responsibility.
