DBR Intensives
What is a DBR Intensive?
Healing from complex trauma can be intense and nonlinear, and it’s common for both clients and therapists to encounter periods of difficulty. Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) Therapy Intensives are designed to help give more space for those moments, offering focused support for individuals who want to deepen and enhance their healing process.
DBR Therapy Intensives are structured, personalized experiences that concentrate therapeutic work into a particular format. These intensives are created to work with distress that has felt persistent or difficult to shift, or perhaps just need more space and time. Many folks choose this option to address unremitting symptoms and particularly painful experiences. While this format may not be the right fit for everyone, it can be especially beneficial to those wanting to enhance their existing trauma treatment. I have also found that for people who are carrying intergenerational pain, this can be a space where some of that deep work can start to be processed.
I am endorsed by Dr. Frank Corrigan, the developer of DBR Therapy, as a DBR Consultant. I am in ongoing consultation directly with him, in separate monthly groups for DBR clinicians and DBR consultants. I have also assisted Frank and others in 15+ DBR trainings (levels 1-3). This means I have access to some of the most up-to-date information and am directly engaged with how DBR therapy is evolving.
If you are a DBR therapist seeking greater mastery with the approach, a DBR Intensive offers a powerful avenue for both personal insight and professional development. Many clinicians report that engaging in this immersive experience enhances their confidence and enriches the quality of their work with clients. This is also a great experience for clinicians working toward their DBR-P status, as it can help work toward hours “as client” as well as provide an enriched experience of learning and attunement.
And finally, I am always so deeply moved by the experience of DBR, and honored to be able to witness people's process.
